Philadelphia Neighborhoods

Below is an outline of the Philadelphia neighborhoods in which many of my real estate properties are listed and sold. Perhaps you will find your new home in one of these beautiful Philadelphia locations.

Chestnut Hill
East Falls
Erdenheim/Flourtown
Germantown
Manayunk/Roxborough
Mount Airy

Chestnut Hill
Chestnut Hill is one of the wealthier communities in
the Philadelphia real estate market, and is a very desirable place to live because of its historical character and village setting. Bordered by Fairmont Park, it also has a number of its own community parks, creating a pastoral atmosphere. Local residents can walk to a vibrant boutique shopping area and enjoy frequent community festivities. Chestnut Hill is also home to several of the best restaurants in Philadelphia.

East Falls
East Falls was formerly a commercial area of Philadelphia and has a number of historic mills that have been converted into residences and shops. It has very easy access to Center City. It is the home of Philadelphia University and Drexel Medical School. East Falls has direct access to Fairmont Park along the Schuylkill River. Lovely pocket parks compliment the recreation available on the loop stretching along the river drives.

Erdenheim/Flourtown
The Erdenheim/Flourtown community has a great public school system with a small town feel. Residents enjoy a wide variety of community activities for all ages including golf courses and Fort Washington State Park with its Hawk Watch station.

Germantown
Germantown is one of the older historic communities in Philadelphia and boasts a variety of lovely old homes. Germantown’s history dates back to the founding of our country with enthusiasts who regularly reenact some of the Revolutionary War battles.

Manayunk/Roxborough
Manayunk/Roxborough has a history as a textile mill town, with many historic buildings converted to residences and shops. It is the most exciting stretch of the bicycle race called the Philadelphia International Championship “America's top international cycling classic, and one of the richest and most prestigious one day races outside of Europe.” Main Street Manayunk is home to wonderful boutiques, restaurants and exciting night life. There are many outdoor recreational activities most notably the Manayunk Canal Toe Path for hikers and bicyclists that links to Valley Forge Park.

Mount Airy
Mount Airy is an open and inviting community with extraordinary diversity.  Home to Weaver’s Way CoOp, one of the oldest continually operating cooperatives in the nation, Mt Airy also has fabulous old homes many bordering on Wissahickon Park which is a natural gorge and a beautiful part of Fairmont Park with hiking and biking trails.

Please come visit our communities, whether for fun or for your next real estate property, here in North West Philadelphia.  There are access points all along the Wissahickon Park on our neighborhood streets.  I love to walk my dog in the park and especially enjoy birding in the natural habitat of the gorge.  Just the other day I saw two Pileated Woodpeckers and often see Redtail Hawks and Belted Kingfishers just to name a few.  We have fabulous restaurants, shopping and really nice people who make their homes here.
